Rare Whitney Scharf Rifle in 44-40. They only made 2000 rifles before Winchester bought them out in 1888. This particular rifle is a low 3 digit serial number 362. 24" round barrel and full magazine. Bore I will rate a 7 on a scale from 1 to 10. All markings are nice and crisp and screws are in above average condition. Action functions smoothly. Overall condition is a brown / gray patina. Correct and original front and rear sights are still intact. Both forend and buttstock are in very good condition. Forend has NO crack on right side which is commonly seen on these rifles.
