During there production there were 35,000 produced for the French military. The cartridge size was 11mm X 17.8mmR. This particular revolver is an officers model with the blued barrel, case colored frame, and fluted cylinder. These were the first double action center fire revolvers issued to the French army. These pistols have a side loading gate which pulls straight to the rear. These guns were built by Manufacture d'armes de Saint-Etienne and this is marked in gold on top of the barrel which is clearly seen in the attached pictures. The condition of this piece of history is remarkable for a gun which is almost 150 years old. I doubt there is another in this condition anywhere in the country. Grips which I believe are ebony are in wonderful condition. Case coloring is remarkable with vivid colors. Action works flawlessly. The only negative is a missing lanyard ring. Price of this great pistol is $950 plus $50 shipping to your FFL. As always there is a three day non-firing inspection period with buyer paying shipping charges if returned. Obviously being made prior to 1899 it is an antique so can be shipped direct.
