VERY FINE CONTEMPORARY VIRGINIA FLINTLOCK .45 CAL. LONGRIFLE BY D.A. VIENS OF WINCHESTER, VA. DATED 1997. 38” octagon rifled .45 cal. browned barrel with original elevator rear and brass blade front sights. Maker signed in script on top flat “D.A. VIENS” and serial number stamped at breech on left flat “NO. 51”. Flint lock signed forward of hammer “A. Baker”. Birds Eye maple stock with finely engraved brass patchbox and mounts. Silver wire inlay about the barrel tang and nickel silver oval monogram plate at the wrist. Finest quality from an exceptionally talented maker in top very near new condition.
