An Early U.S. Civil War, "Manson, Sheffield" Bowie Knife With A Silver Handle And Engraved Blade With, "ASSURE DEFENSE" Engraved On It In Very Nice Untouched Condition. All original & complete. The knife has a very nice blade and edges as shown in the photos. It has fine "Manson" markings on the ricasso. The blade is factory etched with, "ASSURE DEFENSE" in the center of the etching. It still has original frosting left on it. The silver handle is excellent throughout and has fine raised engraving on both sides of it. The engraving includes fancy scroll work. The leather scabbard is also fine throughout. The silver fittings are excellent as shown. This Is A Fine looking Example Of An Etched Blade Civil War Bowie Knife With Its original Scabbard. This Bowie Knife Would Make A Great Addition To Any Fine Collection!
