Description:
Sharps 1859 Civil War era carbine, converted to .50-70 metallic cartridge. Most likely made in 1863, serial number 73350
Cosmetically this is a good looking, very representative Civil War era Sharps Carbine. On close inspect you will note that the inscriptions are faint from the metal being slightly pitted then finished and a coat of varnish was added to the wood.
Mechanically excellent with a sharp/bright bore with just minor spots of pitting.
