Description:
SALE PENDING.  Nice 1850's to 1860's era Powder Flask with slanted charger.  This would be correct for a Colt 1860 Army (espcially a Full Fluted Army or early 4 Screw Frame).  It would also be correct for a 3rd or 4th Model Colt 1851 Navy, and the Colt 1861 Navy.  This one is in good condition overall with a rich patina that has formed over the copper body.  This is a double paneled flask so it has the cannons, anchors, Eagle, Stars, Olive Branch, 2 Crossed American Flags, brace of revolvers, bugle, cannon balls, etc.  on both sides.  You don't see many of these outside of cased sets where they're protected.  That said, this one shows some minor dings and small dents from having gone through the Civil War + 160+ years.  The seams for the two halves are still good for over 90% with a small stretch just above the hip that is tight but slightly off seam...see photo.  The spout and spring are intact and in good working order.  This is not a flask I encounter on the loose and usually when you see them, they're in a very expensive cased sets.  $20.00 shipping via Priority Mail  in Lower US 48.
