I found my book. This is the Brazilian Mauser Model 1908, made between 1908 and 1914, chambered in 7x57. Excellent condition, dark bore but good rifling and no pitting. Serial numbers don't match. Gun is 5086; the bolt is 2257. Stock is undamaged and in nice shape. Action is bright, the barrel and fixtures appear blued with 98%+ of finish present, the bolt release lever is case-hardened. The one thing I notice is that the full crest is here and nothing is ground off which I think is important to collectors. I don't find a cartouche. A very nice rifle needing either an ffl or your C&R to ship. Shipping and insurance included in the price.
