"Made in the 1840s. Pair of Belgian percussion single shot pistols. Caliber is approximately .40 with fine multigroove rifling. Barrel length 2" and overall length is 6.5". Barrels are octagonal with a Damascus pattern. These are folding trigger pistols with actions that function perfectly. Both pistols have tasteful matching engraving work. Grips are of rosewood with no cracks or chips. Both pistols bear the Liege Belgium ELG proof marks. Both pistols were finished bright and marked with the number 20 on the bottom barrel flat with the initials AF. Possibly Auguste Francotte? This pair are in excellent condition.
