Pioneer Arms has been working quietly behind the scenes to bring you this amazing new release, a .22 LR Trainer Style Sporter AK47. This is a true semi-automatic, an exact 1:1 of the standard Pioneer Arms AK Sporter Rifle that they sell to their military contracts, with wood furniture, but in .22lr. Featuring all metal construction with their gorgeous Polish laminated wood furniture, this looks and feels like its larger caliber cousins, but shoots the inexpensive, soft shooting, and fun .22lr. Other .22lr style AK’s in the past have been primarily made out of polymers and reduced-quality materials. The Pioneer Arms .22lr Trainer Style Sporter is made from the same materials of the standard 7.62x39 or 5.56Nato AK‚‚s they typically manufacture, giving it that realistic feel you want while shooting, and helping those who are inexperienced with the AK platform to learn it without harsh recoil.
Internally, this has a different barrel, bolt system, recoil spring, and a modified trigger group for the .22lr bolt. These come standard with enhanced safety selectors with manipulation shelves and bolt-hold open notches. The 25 Round .22 LR magazines were designed by Pioneer Arms to be reliable, as well as practical and show the remaining round count via an open window in the middle of the magazine. This is an absolutely fantastic rifle that is fun for learning the AK platform, as a Trainer would, and gives you the opportunity to shoot your AK at significantly less expense.
