Description:
26 inch half octagon barrel chambered in 40-82 WCF caliber with a button mag. Barrel retains about 70% blue tuning dark. The receiver is some what nickel colored with about 30% case color remaining. Good amounts of case color on the forend cap and the hammer and lever. Sights include a Lyman front sight, a blank in the rear barrel slot and an interesting 86 Model tang sight. The Letter states there is a blank in the rear barrel slot so the gun apparently came with a tang sight. This one is a Lyman 15 wind gauge sight with an aperture that folds down. You could order anything you wanted on a Winchester. Wood has most original varnish with very few mars. Complete with a steel shotgun style buttplate. Original sling swivels. A Factory letter confirms the features as well as the 1891 manufacture date. A scarce nice looking gun
