This is a great looking rifle that retains 92-95% of the original blue finish with some gray fading along the visible portions of the barrel, including the large, integral muzzle-brake. The matching bolt has its original armory bright finish remaining, with only some minor marks along the bearing surfaces, and some trace fading of the blue along the bolt handle extension. The rifle has both standard battle sights, and a removable, matching numbered 3.5x scope with standard windage and elevation adjustment knobs. The scope attaches via two claws onto the integral mounts on the left side of the receiver, and is secured by a spring-loaded plunger at the rear of the mount. The scope has a post and lines-type reticle, and clear, fully functional optics. The stock is equipped with an integral forward-folding bipod, and has only a few very minor handling marks in the original military finish. Original, coarse checkering is present on the pistol-grip, and a crisp Swiss cross-in-shield stamp is present on the right side of the buttstock. The scope is housed in the original matching numbered metal case, and the rifle is further accompanied by both a single, non-matching magazine. These rifles were adopted after it became clear that the ZFK 31/43 shared many of the shortcomings of its predecessor, the ZFK 31/42. As a result, the ZFK 1955 was the first, fully capable sniper rifle issued to the Swiss Army, and have a fine reputation as robust and accurate rifles. This is a fine-near excellent example of a very rare Swiss sniper rifle, brought into the country prior to 1968, and with some wonderful period extras. FFL or C&R SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes |
