Description: General Specs: Remington, Year 1942, 30-06, 9lbs. 14oz., LOP 13 1/8" Serial Number: 3052998 Vintage Firearms is pleased to offer this example of a Remington made Springfield Model 1903 rifle, serial number 3052998. With a barrel dated 1942 with RA (Remington Arms) and flaming bomb clearly visible. The bolt handle, barrel and receiver are stamped with the British BNP and crown acceptance proofs. This Rifle was shipped to the United Kingdom through the Lend Lease Act. Incredibly it has managed to make its way back to its home country while most of other Lend Lease weapons were dropped in the Irish sea at the conclusion of World War II! This is a rare example of a 1903 that survived that ignoble end! All metal parts including the action, magazine base plate, trigger guard and barrel bands are parkerized and in excellent condition with a minimum of handling marks. The furniture is Remington’s ‘Scant’ stock profile with the Partial pistol grip produced by them before changing over to the more common C type grip. The mechanics of this rifle are in perfect working order with a notably smooth action, magazine cutoff and two stage trigger breaking cleanly at 5.5 lbs. The bore has six grooved rifling and is in mirror condition and has its original sight protector with R acceptance stamp. This Remington manufactured Springfield 1903 comes with a sling and a cleaning and oiling kit in the butt trap. A fine addition to any military collection, thanks for looking!
