This is an exquiste rifle that retains 97-98% of the original blue finish on the barrel, lock, hammer, and stock furniture. Only some gray fading at the muzzle, and some traces of mild freckling on the bands and trigger guard are present, while the breech-block retains a commensurate amount of bright, original color case-hardening. The walnut stock has a crisp "SWP / 1889" cartouche on the left side, and only minor handling marks in the otherwise excellent original oil finish. The rifle comes with a correct blued steel ramrod, and is equipped with a correct Buffington rear sight and also has an original leather sling installed in excellent condition. This is a splendid Model 1884 Trapdoor, and is in excellent, virtually unissued condition. Antique SOLD Antique: Yes |
