Description:
Comes with documentation from the Cody Museum verifying that it is in original configuration. 16 inch octagon barrel chambered in the desirable 44 WCF caliber with full length magazine tube. Very fine bore. On the right side of the barrel are two British proof marks as well as one below the serial number and one on the bolt. Barrel has sharp corners and excellent markings. Original sights include a German silver blade front and Winchester sporting rear. Metal retains about 75% blue with some light oxidation. About 85-90% original varnish on the walnut stocks with a rifle style buttplate. You find a lot of Trappers but you just never find a short rifle in this condition. Truly a fine gun.
