This pistol has the standard 5 1/2 inch barrel chambered for the 45 A.C.P. cartridge. This pistol was made to shoot the half moon clips to better ease the extraction of spent cases. This Smith & Wesson will also shoot the 45 Auto Rim cartridge. The bore and chambers are in near new condition. The action works smoothly with a crisp trigger pull. The crane still has the spring plunger intact to keep the crane and cylinder from bouncing around during loading. The trigger and hammer have nice color cased finish. The original grips are in very fine condition with no finish loss. The original bright bluing would rate a 98% and better condition. This is a very fine condition Smith & Wesson Military Model 1917 that would be a great addition to any collection! The Original World War One Cartridge Box is for display only and not for sale.
