Before SASS (Single Action Shooting Society) , there was an international orgazization promoting Fast Draw competition. It all started in California in the late 1950's and spread nationally and then internationally. Today it is the World Fast Draw competition with clubs and chapters all over. They shoot wax bullets charged with a primer. This 3 Screw Ruger Blackhawk, from 1970, was modified for this competition and in fact was owned by the Florida State Champion. The barrel, frame, and hammer have modifications which allow for faster time in the competitions. This revolver is actually a part of history.
