RARE---U.S. Colt/Drake Mfg Corp. model 1911A1 National Match Pistol. Made in 1942 and selected to become a National Match competition grade pistol which was carried out by the Springfield Armory in 1964. One of only 800 were configured with the Drake Mfg. Corp slide. Of these 800 only 195 were sold commercially through the Director of Civilian Marksmanship making this variation extremely rare. It is fitted with a Partridge serrated front site and Triangle adjustable rear site (marked US), on the Drake Mfg. Corp slide marked NM7791435, NM7267718 barrel bushing, and NM7790313 barrel (numbered to frame) stamped by Inspector GHD along with T (target sited), SA (Springfield Armory), P (military proof), RIA ( Rock Island Armory), and NM (National Match). Also equiped with a "checkered", wide hammer, front strap, arched main spring housing, and walnut grips along with an adjustable long serrated trigger
The condition is very fine, 99% plus of the arsenal refurbished parkerized finish with only the slightest handleing marks and minor cycling wear.
