Description:
Manufactured in 1887. Octagon barrel, plain trigger, shipped on September 29, 1887. Features full magazine, blued finish, original sporting front sight, 1876 folding ladder rear sight. Top of breech stamped, "Cal. 45-75". Barrel has razor sharp legends and edges and retains approximately 85-95% blue starting to mix with patina, tube is basically a soft brown patina. Frame has original traces of blue finish but basically now a soft gray brown patina. Plain walnut stocks in excellent condition. Has a crescent rifled buttplate. Hammer and lever have basically patina out with traces of case colors. Loading gate has 30% original blue. Strong clean, near mint rifling and fine action. Rifle is far above average. Extremely fine rifle with lots of condition and in the popular large bore caliber.
