Description:
****SOLD**** For sale, an original WW2 SS Officer's Sword Knot made for the various swords available to both SS officers and a number of SS police officers.  This just came out of the woodwork from a vet's family, where it has been in storage for many decades.  This SS Officer's sword knot is Guaranteed 100% ORIGINAL.  It has never been in anyone's collection previously, nor has it even been displayed anywhere. This was found on a short pattern dress bayonet that was totally unmarked and in pretty poor condition.  The bayonet was not worthy of this SS knot, nor was it the right type of blade that this was meant for.  With that said, I think that there have been a number of photos found with this very same model and type of sword knot being worn on dress bayonets despite it being designed for use on a sword.  I will double check that and post some pics if possible.  This would be the final touch that your SS sword needs to really stand-out from the others out there that dont have a real sword knot, or they have a reproduction on them for display purposes. It shows some wear and flaking of the silver finish on the cord, but there is nothing that stands out as an eyesore or ruins the look of it by itself or on a sword handle.  It really is a handsome piece with some good detail.  It would make a great display piece in a glass case by itself or with other German militaria, it would also look great beside a WW2 German issue pistol like a Luger, P-38, High Power, or a Walther PPK / PP model.
