***SOLD*** Beautiful example of the fairly scarce 243 caliber Pre 64 Model 70. S/N 393688 with matching scribed bolt made in 1957. There were relatively few STANDARD weight 243s produced, and to find one like this in such high condition AND with a steel buttplate is not such an easy task. The bluing on this rifle is nearly flawless showing close to 99% with just a few light wear marks in the action area and a small rub on the rear bridge from a previously mounted scope base. Even the buttplate is nearly perfect! The wood is not far behind with a strong and bright finish, but does show a few scattered very light dents/marks that do not show up in pics so will rate conservatively at 97%. I have had the barreled action out of the stock and the insides look like new with no alterations of any kind.
The barrel is 24". The bore and mechanical functions are flawless. A very nice rifle in a somewhat difficult to find caliber/configuration.
