Thierry Le Sénécal unique and scarce mighty Medieval Hunting Dagger or "Pig Sticker" in the U.S. As the name implies this type of knife is best suited to finish-off an animal during hunt. Blade length 8-1/4" by 1-5/8" from 3/8" carbon steel & 128.42 sandwich alloy blade, 40mm width at the guard, double brass guard and ferrule with fancy file work, brass pommel. The hefty 5-1/8" handle is a combination of leahter washers and stag. Le Senecal maker. One of a kind piece from this French knifemaker. Blade bears the rare double markings (wolf howling at the moon, no longer available and the newly created logo-duck with glasses) The maker does not make sheaths but offer a velvet-lined protective douible -sided inside pouch. NOTE: This knife has two very distinctive finishes: Close to the guard and ricasso it received a blackened-like finish with light tempered line clearly visible at each side of the blade, the rest of the blade has received a bit of a darker mirror polish.
