Description:
Really nice early 1800's flintlock musket with tiger striped stock. This smoothbore musket is a .60 caliber with a 38" barrel. The barrel is six sided at the breech for about 10" then becomes round. The bore is fairly clean. The barrel is a product of Liege based on the proofmarks on it. I beleive the proofmarks would date the barrel post 1811.The tiger striped stock is in excellent condition with only few scratches and very minor dents. The butt plate, trigger guard, and ferrules are brass. The musket is equiped with a lock marked "BARNETT" over "1805". The lock functions correctly. Barnett was known for many trade muskets in the Northern most parts of the country. This one is fairly plain compared to the ones that sell for big bucks. It is apparent that someone took very good care of this musket and I assume it could be fired after approval from a qualified gunsmith.
