Description:
1912 COLT BISLEY Model SINGLE ACTION ARMY .32-20 WCF Six-Shot Revolver C&R

SAA in .32-20 Winchester Manufactured in 1912!

Here we present a Colt Bisley Model Single Action Army Revolver in .32-20 Winchester, or 32 WCF, manufactured in Hartford, Connecticut in 1912. Though Colt enjoyed the largest contracts of any handgun maker during the American Civil War, it had to rely on its array of percussion fired revolvers, namely the 1860 Army until the Smith & Wesson owned Rollin White Patent expired in 1869. This enabled them to begin making revolvers with completely bored through cylinder chambers to utilize modern metallic cartridge ammunition in the most effective manner.

In 1869, Colt’s began development of a suitable cartridge revolver in earnest, first coming out with a number of conversions for their percussion lines, until 1872 when they debuted what was to become the Colt Model 1873 Single Action Army in the 1872 U.S. Trials. Needless to say, it won, and became the Army’s revolver of choice. It also became the sidearm of choice for many others like cowboys, guards, lawmen, crooks, shopkeepers and all manner of civilians.
This variant is characterized by a more curvaceous grip frame and lower hammer spur, allowing for a higher purchase on the revolver. The left side of the barrel is marked “BISLEY MODEL 32 W.C.F.”. The left side of the frame is marked with the standard patent markings.

The overall condition is near fine. Original blue and case colors. The bore is bright with sharp rifling. Both grips are firm, despite the crack on the right side. The bottoms of both grips have been graffitied with some figures carved in. The action mostly functions, although the cylinder does not index. The numbers match. This is a Bisley Colt with a lot of character in great condition.
