The Krag Model 1898 Rifle was the first smokeless powder repeating firearm adopted by the United States and was produced from 1892-1904 in various models and configurations. The Krag first saw service with U.S. Troops during the Spanish-American War and later saw continued in service through the Boxer Rebellion and the Philippine Insurrection over its brief life span. The Model 1898 is chambered in 30-40 Krag and exhibits the buttery smooth cycling action of the bolt that has become the hallmark of the Krag rifle platform.
