Description:
For Sale is a very nice BSA Lee-Speed bolt-action commercial Sporting Rifle chambered in .303 British. This is the sporting version of the military Lee-Metford rifle. It was a popular hunting rifle among British officers who could buy their own firearms. You may remember it wielded by Val Kilmer’s John Henry Patterson against man-eating lions in The Ghost in the Darkness. The barrel reads "Proved & Sighted for The Mark VII .303 High Velocity Cartridge". This rifle is in Good-Very Good condition with some light handling marks. Most likely manufactured in the 1920's. The bore of the 25" barrel is in Very Good Condition with strong rifling, and the wood is in great shape with very nice checkering. Mounted on the solid rib is the rear sight which has one standing and two folding blades AND a folding ladder sight in front of the folding sights. The bluing is about 90%. This would make an excellent addition to any firearm collection. Feel free to call with any questions.
