Description:
Featured is the Winchester Model 1886, lever action rifle. Serial # 2021 is a first year, early production model and 1886 stamp applied November 28, 1886 (Per Cody Letter also attached). Chambered in .40/82. 26" inch, round barrel, with a plain trigger and metal butt plate. Overall condition is very good, aged gray patina throughout, the action is excellent and smooth. Bore is bright with nice rifling, walnut stock remains solid and retains most of its finish, with only slight/minor marring due to age/usage. All lettering, numbers and dates on the metal are legibile. Because I am an enthusaist and not a serious collector, I have obtained two indpeendent apprasials, Ancestry Guns and a certified gunsmith. Both have looked at the gun and the gunsmith has appraised its value on the Gun Blue Book at roughly 70%. A wonderful 1st year production Model 1886.
This is an antique and by ATF standards it can be shipped directly to your home or business address. Seller will incur the shipping and will also insure it through UPS with tracking. Personal check, bank check or wire transfer will be accepted. 3 day non-firing inspection w/buyer being responsible and insuring any shipping or insurance upon return. Seller will only deal with the lower 48 states.
For those who like to actively shoot the older models of Winchester's there is a caompany in Califortnia, Load X that does make the .40-82 round. You would be well advised to call or write them to ensure it could be fired in the Model 1886.
