Description:
Rare Franchi 48AL Model Super Deluxe in 12 gauge. In the 1950's/60'sFranchi produced special order, highly engraved Model 48AL guns with select wood and a high level of finish. Reviewing old Shooters Bible Publications reveals that these guns were priced in excess of Browning Superposed Midas Grade small bore shotguns. These guns were expensive! This gun has extraordinary detailed engraving of ribbons and scroll. Some of the original paperwork is included confirming the Super Deluxe Grade.
The barrel on this Franchi Super Deluxe is 28" with 2 3/4" chambers. The mirror bore measures .725 with 11/1000 choke (IC). Barrel stampings confirm a Factory Original condition. Barrels are stamped English Steel Company Supercromato. Evidently Franchi had sourced the highest steel grade available. Also stamped is the production date of XIV (1958). Great stock dimensions. LOP is 14 1/4". Drop at comb - 1 1/2". Drop at heel - 2 3/16". Franchi grip cap. All parts are highly polished. No three shot plug. Weight of the gun is 7 LBS 13 OZ.
