18th Century LAZARI COMINAZ FLINTLOCK Pistol .56 ENGRAVED Italian Antique
Martial Sidearm Cavalry or Officer’s Pistol
Here we present an antique Officer’s Flintlock Pistol by Lazari Cominaz, made circa the early-18th Century. This comes from a family of prolific gunmakers from the Brescian part of Italy whose prowess extends back to the 1600s. Their barrels as well as their complete firearms can be found all around Europe, their barrels being known for the durability.
This piece is 17-7/8” in total length with a 12-1/8” barrel in .56 caliber. Engraved lock with a pierced sideplate. Brass hardware.
The overall condition is good. Original patina. The action is strong. The bore is smooth and patinated. The stock has a stable crack above the ramrod tube; otherwise solid. This is a handsome piece that would do quite well on display.
