1886 TAKEDOWN, EXTRA LIGHT RIFLE IN .33WCF, #155XXX, MADE 1918. Fine example with perfect bright bore. Excellent barrel and mag blue, sharp markings, buckhorn rear sight with elevator bar intact mated to a Lyman "Jack" front sight (half moon with ivory bead). The receiver retains some very thin blue that has aged/flaked to a natural gray/brown. Exc. screws and fine blue on the loading gate and excellent blue on the bolt. Exc. stock with checkered steel shotgun butt plate and very tight wood to metal fit. Exc. forend. Tight action with strong and secure safety half-cock. Tight takedown. The .33 WCF was and is an excellent and powerful big game cartridge that is essentially a .45-70 case necked to take a 200 grain .338" jacketed bullet. This is the only 1886 exclusively made for a "modern" smokeless powder/jacketed bullet cartridge. These are getting hard to find now.
