S/N 342673 with matching scribed bolt made in 1955. Only 1500 of these were ever made and many were recalled due to a unique chambering problem in some guns caused by the shallow tapered shoulder of this cartridge case. This rifle appears to have been one of those recalled, inspected, and returned to service based on the "X" stamped underneath the barrel. The rifle's condition is excellent throughout showing 98% original blue, including the relatively fragile anodized aluminum components of floorplate, trigger guard, and buttplate which all maintain excelllent and original finish. The wood is equally nice, with no notable marks and clear checkering. The barrel characteristics and caliber stamping of this rifle are perfect and known by me to look exactly as they should in a genuine example. Additionally, this rifle has the correct LOW comb stock and scarce but correct 22K rear sight with 4 step elevator as they all should. (notwithstanding a few ultra rare sightless examples).
