Description:
This 1917 dated WWI era semi-automatic pistol is an Erfurt 1914 Model chambered in 9 MM. It has a fixed serrated dovetailed ramp inverted "V" front sight, a V-notch rear sight, a left side magazine release button, a lanyard loop, and a smooth round trigger and trigger guard. It contains extensive proof marks throughout. This is an example of a standard WWI 1914 Model German Luger pistol as manufactured by the Erfurt factory in 1917. The Erfurt Luger is a fairly scarce Luger to find as they had lower production numbers than the DWM models. The top of the chamber is marked "1917" for the year of manufacture and the front toggle is marked with the "Crown/ERFURT". The right side is marked with the three "Crown/Script" Letter proofs next to an "Imperial Eagle" proof. The rear of the barrel also has a single "Crown/Script Letter" proof with an "Imperial Eagle" proof on the right side. It has the standard military style numbers with the full serial number on the major parts with the various small parts all having the last two digits of the serial number along with the "crown Erfurt" acceptance proof mark. The ejector, magazine catch/release, takedown lever, thumb safety lever and trigger are all straw colored. The metal shows no signs of rust or pitting, and it has a great patina. The checkered wood grips are in very good condition, with no chips, marks, scratches, or cracks observable. It comes with an aftermarket leather holster and two magazines total (magazine serials do not match the gun). 9mm Parabellum
