NORTH HAVEN, CT. U.S.A. / MOD. 336CS MICRO-GROOVE BARREL CAL 30-30 WIN.”. The left side of the barrel at the receiver is marked with a circled “JM” proof. The right side of the barrel is marked with a warning address. The upper tang is marked “16073271”. The front sight is a beaded blade that is dovetailed to a serrated riser and screwed into the barrel. The riser is grooved and installed with a protective hood. The rear sight is a folding semi-buckhorn leaf with a U-notch and elevator that is dovetailed to the barrel. There are no extra holes in the receiver or stock. all filler screws intact on top of the receiver.   This rifle retains about 98% of its metal finish. There are some nicks and scratches on the bottom of the receiver and a few less significant marks on the barrel. There is light operational wear on the bolt. The markings are clear. The screw heads range from sharp to lightly tool marked with strong slots. The Marlin 336 is one of the pillars of quality American-made lever-action rifles. This is a great-looking rifle in Fine condition with a nice bore and strong mechanics. It is light and easy to carry so if you are going hunting in heavy brush, and/or don’t want to carry a big, heavy rifle around with you all day; this is a very practical choice.
