Description:
26 inch octagon barrel chambered in the scarce 38-70 WCF caliber with a full length magazine tube. Dark bore that needs a good thorough cleaning. Sights include a German silver blade front with a typical buckhorn rear and a folding tang sight. Barrel and mag retain about 75% original blue starting to plum a little bit. Receiver has strong traces of case color in protected areas with the balance having turned a nickel color. Walnut stocks have a considerable amount of original varnish. Rifle style buttplate. Crisp action. The 38-70 is one of scarcest calibers in the Model 1886 with 830 made. This has the most desirable features made in 1895. All original and complete with a copy of a Factory Letter.
