Description:
This is the Winchester Model 1873, serial # 33080, made in 1879 in New Haven, Connecticut. I also have a .40-82 caliber for sale as well on this site. This is the harder to find 2nd model. It has also been appraised by two independentt gun experts, a certified gunsmith and the Ancestry Guns owner. The overall condition is very good, original finish/patina, excellent action, bright bore with strong rifling, solid and smooth walnut stock with almost no marring and some of the oringial varnish, 24 inch barrel, round bore and chambered for the Winchester Center Fire, with a plain trigger. All markings are visible, metal butt plate and comes with the cleaning rods in the butt of the stock. Although a collector more of Civil War/Wild West Colt handguns, this .44 was the companion of the Colt .44 handgun.
