About Us: With two partners, I own Pawnee Sportsmens Center LLC, near Fort Collins, Colorado. We have rifle/pistol ranges, 1000-yard range, 3-gun, cowboy action shooting, trap and skeet, and upland game bird hunting. I primarily deal in Lever Action Winchesters and Colt Single Action Army revolvers. We have some Colt and Winchester parts, and I manufacture the Columbia Precision Tang Peep Sight for lever guns and some single shots. Description:
This is a 3rd Generation Colt Single (SAA) Army revolver made in the Custom Shop 1993 (serial #S03311A). It is a Colt Frontier Six Shooter (.44-40 or .44 WCF) with 4.75” barrel, blue and case colored black powder frame, etched panel on barrel, bullseye ejector rod and one-piece factory ivory grips. It is New-in-the-Box, unturned and unfired, with all original papers, blue Custom Shop box in white sleeve cover, with the original factory label for this specific gun. Part of what makes this gun relatively rare is the etched panel on the left side of the barrel, rather than a standard roll die or caliber designation. Most etched panel guns came out between 2008 and 2010 (blued guns only produced for one year – discontinued in 2009). From my research I discovered some etched guns were made possibly as early as 1983 on special order, and another group made for distributor Lew Horton in early 1993. Serial numbers of these 200 or so guns may have had an extra “C” added before the SA in the serial prefix. Colt announced at some point after 2010 that they would not make the etched panel guns again to “,,,protect the investment of those who bought them…”. Most, if not all, etched panel guns had black powder frames (single base pin retaining screw in front rather than the spring-loaded cross release pin design).
