General Specs: L.C. Smith, Year 1926, 12 Gauge, 8lbs. 4oz., Chokes F/F, LOP 13 7/8", DAH 1 3/4", DAC 1 1/2"
Serial Number: RE92846
In the world of L.C. Smith shotguns, the Specialty Grade is a well-appointed gun, with generous engraving, nicely figured wood finely checkered, and equal to a Grade 3 gun of other makers, ie DH Parker, C Grade Fox, etc.  They made over 4800 guns in Specialty Grade 12ga., so they are not rare.  So, how do you know what gun to buy?  This gun, serial number RE92846 built in 1926, is special.  First, it has every factory option offered including ejectors, Hunter One Trigger, Trap style beavertail forend, double ivory beads, ventilated rib, and factory pad.  ONLY A FEW HUNDRED SPECIALTY GRADE 12 GAUGE GUNS HAD 32” BARRELS AND ALL FACTORY OPTIONS COMBINED INTO ONE GUN.  ADDITIONALLY, THIS GUN IS IN FACTORY 99% MINT CONDITION, WITH 99% FACTORY CASE COLOR, TRIGGER GUARD AND BARREL BLUE, PERFECT SCREWS AND WOOD-TO-METAL FIT, AND WELL FIGURED WOOD.  EVEN THE FACTORY JEWELING REMAINS ON THE BREECH FACE OF THE BARRELS!  The pictures tell the story.  This is a gorgeous, heavy duty, 12ga. TRAP CONFIGURED GUN for clays or game, and in the world of fine shotguns, a lot of gun for the money.  Where else can you find such a beautiful, functional doublegun with 32” ventilated rib barrels, heavily reinforced forend lug, and great wood for under $6K?  At Vintage Firearms, Inc. (VFI) we inspect each gun before purchase, and our gunsmiths clean and service each as needed. This gun’s action and forend iron was stripped to the smallest parts, Ultrasonic cleaned and scrubbed, all parts inspected for integrity and function, lubricated, and reassembled, providing a VFI CERTIFIED GUN, a $375 service in our shop, and

includes A 90-DAY MECHANICAL WARRANTY.  Vintage American double guns fully optioned like this fine Elsie are a treasure, and a solid investment that will grow in value as few such examples exist.  Investment quality guns are most desirable when in the very highest condition, with the most desirable options, and this gun is as good as you may ever see.  Weighing 8 ¼ pounds and balanced 5/8” forward of the hinge pin, this gun will not jar you with undo recoil and the barrels will swing through your target with ease.  In the field after game, this gun will excel blocking at the end of a drive for pheasants, reach out and slapping geese and turkey at 65 yards, and knock pigeons and doves from the sky at ridiculous distances.  We have 3 full-time gunsmiths that can add a longer pad, alter stock dimensions or chokes, etc. without waiting in line…just let us know if you need anything altered.  If you want the best of the Specialty Grade L.C. Smith guns, this is your gun.  See the specifications below.  Thanks for looking!
