This piece is an early production example with the tang mounted safety and so-called flat top receiver predating Ruger's integral scope mounts, and dates approximately to 1974-5. The action is topped with a Leupold VARI-X II 3-9x40 scope in Weaver rings. .300 Winchester Magnum
