Description:
Winchester Model 1895 Limited Edition Texas Special chambered in .405 Winchester. This lever action rifle with internal box magazine was made in Japan by Miroku and comes with a 24-inch barrel and a black walnut buttstock and forearm. The buttstock has a straight grip and a shotgun-style steel buttplate. The length of pull is 13.25 inches. The forearm is a Schnabel type, and it and the grip area of the buttstock have nicely executed cut checkering and a soft satin finish. The barrel and receiver are blued as well as the hammer and trigger. This model has both a tang safety and a rebounding hammer. The internal magazine holds four rounds. Markings: The left side of the barrel is marked "SPECIAL STEEL BARREL / ESPECIALLY FOR SMOKELESS POWDER" and at the rear with an ovalled "WP" proof, the top is marked ".405 WIN CAL.", the right is marked "WINCHESTER / U.S. REPEATING ARMS CO., NEW HAVEN, CT. U.S.A. / JAPAN/MIROKU" and "WINCHESTER TRADEMARKS LICENSED FROM OLIN CORPORATION". The right of the receiver is marked with the serial number. The top tang is marked "WINCHESTER / MODEL 1895". The stocks are two-piece checkered walnut with Schnabel forend, straight grip, straight comb, sling stud front and rear, and smooth steel buttplate. The finish is Blued & Case Colored. The bore is bright, and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore. .405 Winchester
