***SOLD*** Incredible Pre War Winchester Model 12 16 gauge which has been masterfully upgraded with several custom features. S/N 101471 made way back in 1915!
Having seen way more than my share of bad gun work, I am not usually one to get too excited about "upgrades", but this one about blew me away and I had to have it.
The 26" Nickel Steel barrel has had a precisely added ventilated rib and associated complete blue restoration by Simmons which shows dark and consistent color, depth and buff pattern with only slight softening of the stampings.
What really sets this gun apart though is the wood set. It is simply breathtaking. The warm honey color and ideal amount of contrasting grain figure are second to none in my eyes, and it has been flawlessly checkered in an exquisite multi bullet point with ribbon pattern. The finish and the fit of wood to metal is perfect. It has a 1/2" Pachmayr Old English recoil pad mounted, setting the LOP at 14 1/2". So, if you would prefer an original style black plastic plate, that could be readily accomplished with no loss from original LOP which on standard M12s was 13 7/8"-14". The finishes on this gorgeous shotgun remain at 99-100% since restoration, and the bore and mechanical functions are flawless. This is certainly the best non engraved M12 I have personally ever seen in this category and class.
