Description:
Made in 1937 for Ralph L. Read- a retail store owner from NYC. Very rare Trap Grade 20ga 2 barrel set. Gun made with 2 sets of factory original barrels- one 26" choked WS-1 and WS-2 and a second set of 30" barrels choked Full/Full. Single checkered forend with roller type release. Gun made with Trap Grade straight grip buttstock with original checkered butt. Action is beautifully blued with original owners initials finely and I am certain factory inlaid in gold "RLR" in circle. Gun made with auto ejectors, Single selective triggers, non-auto safety and thick comb which makes the gun a really nice pointing gun!
Overall, the gun remains in excellent original condition. Both sets of barrels retain more than 95% original blue. The action is excellent with more than 85% original finish and has some minor blue flaking on the right side as seen in the close up photo. The stocks are sound and excellent and retain more than 95% original finish with only minor handling marks. Bores are bright and shiny and mechanics are crisp throughout.
These special order small bore pre-war 21's are impossible to source in original condition and configuration. This gun is dynamic and versatile for field use and really quite fine for the gunroom, too! It is priced at $12950 plus shipping to your FFL.
