Liege Proofed “TEXAS RANGER” Double Action .38 COLT SPECIAL C&R Revolver
Pre-World War I Era Six-Shooter
Here we present a C&R Belgian “Texas Ranger” Double Action .38 Colts Special Revolver made circa the 1930s. The Texas Ranger revolver is thought to be a Belgium copy of the Spanish EIBAR Model 1929 revolver. There is no absolute data on who made the “pirate copies”. During the 1930s stamping on firearms was not mandatory in Belgium, which made it very easy to make lesser quality firearms as compared to the name brands such as Colt and Smith & Wesson. During this era, there were literally hundreds of small workshops producing these types of handguns. Because of this, finding the original maker is highly unlikely.
The overall condition is good. Strong action. The bore is bright with good rifling. Solid grips. Legible makings.
