Description:
This 1873 was in Jim Gordon's Collection. Jim wrote "Winchester's New Model of 1873: A Tribute." which is considered the bible for Model 1873 collectors. This gun is pictured on several pages. 24 inch octagon barrel chambered in 44 WCF caliber with full length mag tube. Bore has good rifling and could benefit from a good cleaning. Original sights. Original thumbprint dust cover. Metal surfaces are a brown/gray color. Smooth action. 30k serial range. Straight grain walnut stocks have typical bumps and bruises of a used 135 year old rifle. There is a neat number "3" carved in the stock. Very artistically done. Complete with cleaning rods and a factory letter. A neat old documented Winchester!
