Description:
The Winchester Model 88 was introduced in 1955 and was made until 1973. The serial number puts this receiver in 1969, but with the "A" suffix this rifle was more than likely assembled later on. Winchester used the "A" to denote a design or production change to the receiver group. The basket weave stock would also place this rifle post 64, chambered in .284 Winchester which is not too shabby of a wildcat cartridge. The .284 was the parent cartridge for many different wildcat rounds. Flip up rear sights and drilled and tapped for a mount and scope. .284 Winchester
