This is a first model, Safety Hammerless or "Lemon Squeezer" revolver manufactured by Smith & Wesson. The inside left grip frame has markings indicating a factory rework with a date of October 1956. The factory refurbished revolver remains in excellent condition with 98-99% factory restored nickel plate showing scattered light handling marks. The trigger guard and cylinder latch retain their full blue. The trigger has beautiful swirls of case-hardened colors on the sides while the face has toned to pewter. The diamond checkered hard rubber factory grips feature an S&W monogram on each panel with a faint scratch numbering to the gun, and remain in excellent condition. The revolver features a half-moon pinned front sight, fixed rear sight, push button barrel latch, all appropriate parts are correctly numbered to the gun, barrel to frame fit is tight, and it correctly times and locks up. An excellent example of the Antique first model which was factory restored and kept in that condition. Antique SOLD |
