Description:
This recent Mauser style controlled round feed bolt action rifle is a CZ (Czech Republic) CZ 550 Safari Classics chambered in .416 Rigby. It has a 3-leaf Express (1 standing, 2 folding), a receiver that is grooved for mounting an optic (not included), a slightly reinforced Schnabel contour fore end, a raised fluted crescent comb semi-Monte Carlo-style butt stock, top and bottom sling studs, and a thick soft black rubber butt pad. The dark Turkish walnut is elegant and features finely engraved texturing on the forend and grip. The 416 Rigby round was intended for use against dangerous game in Africa and India. The original 410 gr bullet had a sectional density of 338 and at a velocity of 2,300 ft/s it generated 4,702 ft lb of energy. The bluing on the metal surfaces is in excellent condition, with little to no thinning or freckling. The elegant dark Turkish walnut stock is in very good condition, with some light handling wear apparent throughout. CZ is known for its high-quality, reliable sporting and hunting rifles. This Model 550 Safari Classics is a testament to that with a light trigger that breaks clean and crisp and a bright bore. This is a big game hunter; the .416 Rigby is a rifle cartridge designed in 1911 by London based gun maker John Rigby & Company, for hunting dangerous game. It is the first cartridge to use a bullet of .416 inch diameter. This rifle is beautiful, and in very clean condition. .416 Rigby
