"Very interesting example of a Day’s Patent Cane Gun. Most of the Day’s patent pistols are the Eagle Headed Trunnion style pistol. This is an unusual variation with the horse head and being a cane gun. This gun is in 28 bore with an 18 ½" barrel. This gun is in an under hammer action that works properly. The action part is marked “Day’s/ Patent/ JR" The horse handle is made of brass. Metal has been cleaned. Proof marks can still be seen on the barrel. The barrel is presumably can screw off, but it seems locked in place. Very rare Day’s patent Horse Head Cane Gun!
