This Clark Custom, Long Heavy Slide was built on a Colt 1911 frame dated to 1979. This would explain the front strap and main-spring hand stippling. Clark Customs got their first checkering machine in late '79. It is possible that this one was built by Jim Clark Jr. just by looking at minor differences between the elder and Jr's style. Of course, I was wrong once, so who knows. Clark Customs were said to have 10 shots into a 3" group at 50 yards. And I bet this one still can. .45 ACP
