Early 1900s Self Defense/Concealed Carry Revolver
Here we present a C&R Engraved Thames Arms Co. Top-Break Double Action .32 caliber revolver, made circa 1900 in Norwich, Connecticut. The Thames Arms Company was originally incorporated as the Thames Chain & Stamping Company in August of 1896 and changed its new name September 21, 1900. This revolver carried on with the popular Smith & Wesson top-break, double action revolver design, complete with the automatic ejector. With its small size and 5-shot capacity of .38 S&W, it would have been a very popular and powerful concealed defense weapon for almost anyone in the early 20th Century!
The overall condition is near fine. Original finish. The action fully functions but the cylinder has some wiggle when lock up. Semi-bright bore. The ejector rod does not stay seated when the action is open, thus allowing the cylinder to be improperly removed. Fine, vibrant pearl grips. Sharply engraved. Legible markings. Numbers match.
