Description:
This 1965 double action K-frame three screw revolver is a Smith & Wesson Model 17-2 K-22 Masterpiece chambered in .22 Long Rifle. It has a Patridge blade on a raised serrated ramp front sight, a micrometer click flat top square notch leaf rear sight adjustable for windage and elevation, a counterbored cylinder, a six inch pinned barrel, 10-groove front and back straps, and a full length grooved wide barrel rib. It was designed as a target revolver and appears to be Smith & Wesson's "Three T's" version: Case-hardened Target Trigger, Case-hardened Target Hammer and large flat butt Target Grips. The high gloss polished bluing is in excellent condition at about 97%. Likewise, the diamond checkered magna walnut grips are in excellent condition with no observable marks, scratches, chips or cracks. There is faint thinning on the front edge of the cylinder. There is a faint turn line on the cylinder that is almost invisible. There are some standard operational marks. The screw heads are sharp with strong slots. The markings are clear. Overall, this handgun rates in about Fine-Excellent condition. .22 Long Rifle
