It has a serrated ramp fixed blade front sight, an adjustable square notch blade rear sight, gold S&W emblem diamond checkered walnut stocks, a strong beavertail, a left-side safety/decocker lever, a serrated hammer, a lanyard loop at the base, and a midnight black finish. The bluing finish is in excellent condition. The diamond checkered walnut stocks are in excellent condition, with only a couple of barely noticeable finish rubs on the right upper grip. It comes with S&W blue box and miscellaneous paperwork and a single 8 round magazine. If you want a piece of history in your gun collection that stands the test of time, the S&W 39-2 will serve you well. The Smith & Wesson Model 39-2 is a reliable gun with some history behind it. Following World War II, the United States military started looking for a new 9 MM service pistol to replace the Colt 1911. Smith & Wesson answered this call to action and got to work on the Model 39. Our Navy SEALs used a firearm known as the Hush Puppy; it was a modified version of the Smith & Wesson Model 39. The changes in the 'Pup were an added suppressor and a modified slide lock. 9mm Luger
